Stalking leftovers

It's Saturday. Time to stalk some real estate. As you know I'm fussy. Not quite right houses, bad photos, I need more photos please! Hmmmmm can't quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding "yes" yet holding back ... maybe. It's a mixed bag this week. There's a grand Victorian era mansion that thinks it's a seaside cottage, a retro apartment, a teeny tiny studio, an apartment soooo close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge it better have super dooper double glazing and the pool on the edge of Australia (ignore the house just drink in the view). Click on the images to head to the listings. All via realestate.com.au.

Happy Friday!

I desperately want to throw some black paint on something. Photo by Debi Treloar for the book Handmade Home by Mark & Sally Bailey.

P.S. I published a post on my page yesterday mostly about some of my latest decor aquisitions. Feel free to have a peek. And Happy Friday!!!

More from Katie Martinez

Jo has featured the work of interior designer Katie Martinez a few times here but not this insanely beautiful black and white tiled bathroom. With the gold accents it is to die for, and pretty much my dream bathroom. I threw in some photos from other random projects of hers too because everything she touches is a gem.

The Water Factory

A 19th century industrial building in Melbourne's North Fitzroy has been converted and refurbished by Andrew Simpson Architects. Now  two side by side houses the spaces are contained with the heritage listed shell and play with the idea of houses within houses with private rooms that can be open plan or contained via sliding walls and windows and a series of skylights in the ceilings that channel light and fresh air into the internal spaces. A modern, flexible family home with connection to its historic past.

P.S. Doesn't every inner city warehouse need a red Mustang?

Rooftop oasis

Having a home in the city AND a great outdoor space is pretty much the ideal situation IMHO. This rooftop oasis by Dekar Design is the perfect getaway to enjoy summer weather, drinks and friends.
