A cursory glance at the pretty little white house with the green shutters would not reveal how fabulously fun and stylish are the spaces within but look closer, take a step inside and it's not hard to see why Madrid-based interior designer Marta de la Rica is one of Spain's rising stars. Pool house? Guest house? Small house? Who knows? One thing I do know is I'm green with envy.
Good design doesn't need to be pretentious nor bankrupt you. These spaces by California designer Christie Hausmann are about durability and practical living, and she loves hunting for treasures at flea markets and thrift shops. Which means you can afford this. And you can put your feet up on the coffee table and no one will yell at you.
