The easiest before and after I’ve ever done. Ripped out that weird 80’s fireplace insert and painted the wood. Cost $0 Time: less than an hour. Now only 4,000 more projects to go in our new, (all original!), 1982 home 😉 2018 will be quite the year!

My very last post of 2017 as I’m off to Portugal tomorrow for a week and hopefully a bit of sunshine☀️ This year has been beyond amazing- I don’t think I am going to be able to top it! I’ve gained nearly 50k followers, my home has appeared in a book(still can’t get over that one), I’ve sold a business and met some amazing fellow Instagrammers on many an Instameet! . Thanks to everyone who has supported my little business throughout the year- it seriously means everything to me❤️❤️ . Next year I’ve some big decisions to make and I am hoping to expand my brand and make it bigger and better❤️ . I really can’t pretend that 2017 isn’t one that I’m pretty darn pleased to put behind me. As a family, we survived two terrorist attacks (true story) so we are looking forward to sticking the middle digit up to 2017 🖕🏻, even though there were lots and lots of good times too of course ! But when you go through experiences like this, you learn a lot about yourself and what and who are important to you. I’m proud of how we’ve got through this year as a family and come out stronger than ever 🙌🏻 I have a stinking cold, but tonight I will be celebrating with my nearest and dearest and wonderful friends. It seems usual services have resumed for most of the world.. well, not here in Brum! My dastardly duo, who I caught making SLIME in my ensuite last night 🙄 don’t go back to school until Tuesday. And as much as I love to have them off, & admire their comradely protecting one another as they get up to mischief. The view from bed 😍❤️* Every year I say this but gosh I love Auckland at this time of year, when most people have left for the Bach, businesses are closed for another week so there's nothing you could get done if you wanted to, and instead you get the best of this pretty blimmen amazing city (without the traffic!). This weekend I've been in full on staycation mode - a lot of reading, cheese, chips, a bit of gardening, a bit of sewing, some goal setting, planning my living room mural, watching good tv, more reading. I've even seriously restricted my phone use (a bit, not so anyone would actually notice 😂). The only thorn in my side (besides combining napping with gardening) is that I'm really missing a good cafe coffee.
