Living in style in Paris

My love affair with all things French design continues. Beauty, elegance, sophistication and sensuality with a touch of global travels. It's a heady mix in this chic apartment by Emma Donnersberg Interiors. The epitome of stylish living in Paris.

Very pretty colors and textures and shapes. But the living room seating looks terribly uncomfortable. Wooden stool? Never in a million years. The two backless seats? No. The chairs are better, but arms on them would be a big improvement. And a sofa so deep it requires two layers of pillows? You feel like you're going to fall backward. It all might look great, but on a human level, it doesn't seem to work. I don't like to say negative things about people's personal choices, but this is a professional job. And it looks like a professional job--all about lines and designers rather than about actually living in the space.

Yuk - what a waste of original and classic architecture. All that tacky showiness is an interior design crime!

First of all, I love your blog. I agree with the 2 first comments. Uncomfortable design is not good design, even if it is aesthetic. Some pieces, colours and textures are very pleasant though.

Living room looks so comfy. And finally living room table where you actually have space for food and drink and your feets.
By the way - sofa has only one pillow line. The dark one IS the sofa by itself.
