A mountain cabin in Northern Italy
My mother is from Northern Italy and it is at the top of my travel wish list to visit (I was there once, too long ago to remember). When the opportunity does arise, I want to stay RIGHT HERE. This mountain cabin by architect Alfredo Vanotti is one of the most incredible homes I have ever seen - inside and out. A mix of concrete and wood surrounded in stone, with a magnificent view of the Italian Alps....I die. (Photos: Marcello Mariana)
And to my fellow Canadians, HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Can I please put that 'painting' above my bed too, sigh.
I love this place for the no frills use of natural materials, simple design.
Wunderschön!!!
Casa stupenda, as we say in Italy! It's truly amazing to see such a perfect mix of wood, concrete and stone, perfectly blended in the environment as well.
WAUW
Génaial! I love this house inside + out! I might add a few cushions for the sitting area by the fire to feel cozy and dream house, here I come!
That bedroom, would read there for a whole day.
What I would not want to use are those stairs.
Beautiful!! I'd be crawling up those stairs though, if I'd attempt them at all.
I agree, Emmanuelle C, a nice couple of chairs would be good. But what really took me back was why, with such grand views of the mountains would one face the bed AWAY from the window?! Other than that, Ill take it.
The views are so beautiful with all these colors. These mountain seem so charming. These are some truly amazing places, I want to go there. Thanks for sharing with us such a wonderful post.
