Trinity Hall

Sometimes the only way to go is down, like in this refurbish/extension project of a Victorian home located in the UK. Riarch Architects pushed the boundaries of basement design by going two stories below ground floor level to create a light and spacious kitchen and family room, with teen hangout beneath it. Thanks to a ton of windows and 2 huge sets of sliding glass doors, you would never know you were technically in a basement. Impressive!

I think this was in an episode of Grand Designs. If I remember correctly, the builders could only get to the lot through the alley between the two buildings.
