Stalking old and new

I'm in Armadale, Melbourne and I'm stalking a grand old dame given a fresh makeover by design gurus Hecker Guthrie. The grandeur of the Victorian era home is enhanced by an inspired renovation. Subtle, restrained yet impactful. Graceful, modern family living with an historic base. You can find the link here while it lasts.

How could one not go period in a house like this? Yeah, I know that isn't what this blog is about, but oh, I'm so sad. I want to see this done up like Miss Fishers house!! Which I realize is Victorian and done in Art Deco mostly, but to die for!

Oh how I love this place!!!

LOVE the contrast -- good design pairs best with good design, no matter the vintage. Inspired integration of beautiful 70s designs like the yellow leather Vico Magistretti sofa -- it makes the living room sing. Other elements remind me of Sir Terrence Conran... lovely!!
