Art, and how to display it
My favourite art medium is photography. One of my biggest pet peeves is how photography framed behind glass only seems to show really awful glares if there is a window in the room. The worst is trying to photograph this. Plus, framing costs a fortune. The photograph above is fantastic, and the simple way in which it is hung, without a frame and possibly laminated, is a great solution. I have a photo of my Himalayan fluffball Milo that I want to blow up and laminate (on a thin backing) like this, and I'm even more sure now that this is the way to go.

I do love photography too. Do you know Nadia Wicker? Have a look

WOW - her photos are incredible!! I especially love the bad little red riding hood and ghost park series. Thanks for the link Sylvie!
Kim... have you considered transferring your photos on canvas... I have printed several black and white photos to large format canvas and look great on the wall. I did mine via officeworks the cheapest rate by far...
Thanks for the tip ElvisFan. I hadn't thought of that - wouldn't you lose a lot of the sharpness printing it on canvas though? (I'll check prices/quality of places here in Ottawa)
I believe this photo was printed on aluminum. Or, rather, the photo is mounted onto aluminum. There are a few places you can find using this technique. Check out the Opus Art supply website in Vancouver. I think they offer it and you can find more info about it there.
Aluminum? Huh. I like that idea. I'll look into that too - thanks Coco!
