Stalking Harry Seidler

I'm stalking the Holy Grail of modernist design. Thurlow House, in the Sydney suburb of Blakehurst, is part of an important collection of early houses by one of Australia’s great architects, Harry Seidler. This untouched gem from 1952 has my mid century heart fluttering. A very sympathetic renovation (the carpet on the stairs must go), fill it full of classic furniture and live your mid century dream. For sale via Modern House.

No kitchen or bathroom pics? That's just cruel!

I have those exact stairs in my house (literally!) with white stringers and carpet wrap...I want to get rid of the carpet too (I tore the rest out) but the treads are plywood on 2x4 and would need to be totally rebuilt. its a problem. its crazy to see these steps in this otherwise beautiful house!

I like those huge windows! I think that house also needs lots of mirrors
