Oh dear lord help me! I don't know where to start. I can't find the words to describe how much I love this harbour side home in Sydney by Hess Hoen. Old meets new. Layers of texture and simple luxury. Stone and oak and linen and tile. Oh my! It has me flustered in the very best way.
i agree with you. this house is spectacular in every way. one critique however, the kitchen tries toooooo hard. the suspended frame above the island is not needed. what is it anyway? to many light fixtures above the scullery area. the vertical and horizontal lines detracts from what could be a truly stunning room. that plant holder is gross. i would much rather see the beautiful spiral staircase behind it. each to their own and all of that, hey.
What a beautiful house indeed! Maybe a bit too many things in each room though. I really liked the fireplace, the shower and the garden. Yes, the garden is beautiful. Thank you Jo.
I see what you mean. Bafflingly beautiful. Some incredible confidence involved in pulling that off. It looks like it belongs in rural Provence, but with decadence that belongs in Sydney. So many contrasting details.
I very much agree with deon marais about the kitchen!. also i believe that the whole house needs to be edited (things need to go), the key player is the architecture of the house.
but if someone is offering i'd live there in a heartbeat as is (:
I absolutely love this house! Might anyone know where that sofa in the great room is from. The one with the wide flat pillow like flange and the unexpected plaid fabric on the cushion beneath? LOVE!
Suspended frame above the island is for pans and pots or? Those white kitchen lamps - are they Ranarp from Ikea? I love them. http://images.ikea.com/assetbank-ikea/servlet/display?file=10/PE380289-l-m.jpg I adore those ebautiful kitchen-garden door. Beautiful garden and staircase - hidden behind ugly flower stand. I would like too see less wall lamps in the kitchen.
This is the home of Justin Hemmes, CEO of the merivale group. The house is called Hermitage and is one of the most impressive and valuable homes on the Sydney Harbour foreshore.
Beautifull . Where can I get these doors ? Wich material is it ? I am from Holland , need isolated doors like this to open our house to the patio. Thank you very much for answering.

LOVE. Everything. All of it. I'm not just flustered, I think I'm hyperventilating.

OMG I love this house, I have a feeling I know who lives here...and where this is

Does anyone know where I can find those black wall lamps in the kitchen? Fingers crossed ;-)
These from Restoration Hardware are similar Christy.
What a gorgeous place! I can imagine you relax the second you walk through the front door.

Oh. Wow. I'm so in lust for this house! The surfaces, the diagonal floorboards, the tiles, the lights. Er-mer-ger.
