The home of Joanna Laajisto

Jo has featured interiors by Finish designer Joanna Laajisto a few times, so I was stoked to find a feature of the Helsinki apartment she shares with her photographer husband Mikko Ryhänen. This 1928 remodeled space is beautifully restrained and bathed in white. Scandinavian decor at its finest. (Photos by Mikko Ryhänen via Living)

Amazing place. To come in and rest my soul.

Give me black, white, woods, and greens as a combo any day.

Love this place! Usually find black and white homes to be too rigidly, too self-consciously, assembled. But this home feels... natural. Can't quite put my finger on why this should be so (didn't have the same reaction to the Vipp home earlier in the week).

I love so many of the chairs -- the kitchen chairs are grand -- but I'd probably do what I could to avoid the dining room chairs. And maybe the dining room. Or I'd bring in something, in that one room, that just screamed with color. A huge, ox-blood earthen jar in the corner. Or one at least faintly wild painting or posterized photo. Maybe something like this? http://www.pinterest.com/pin/261771797066561235/

I kinda wish we could post pics!
