Antiq-BR
I'm at a loss for words today. One of my cats (admittedly my favourite) has been VERY sick the last couple of days and passed away a few hours ago. It's times like this when blogging about interior design just seems so...trivial. I'd like to do a tribute to him on Monday's pet post, and you'll see why this has affected me so deeply. I leave you with the home and showroom for a Madrid-based antiques shop called Antiq-BR, where they carry French, Italian and Swedish treasures from the 18th & 19th centuries. Via Nuevo Estilo.

So sorry to hear about your cat... Loosing a friend is not easy. Take care! x
So very sorry to hear of your loss Kim, and as has been said above thank you for continuing with your posts regardless.
Hi Kim,
I never got to enjoy the companionship of a dog or cat of my own, but I've been very fortunate to know some incredible pets through my husband, his family, and many dear friends. For one friend, Scott, I had the honour of being at his side when his dog, Mo (a bichon frise), passed into his next life. Over a year later, I was turning a corner in Scott's house and thought I saw Mo waiting for me at the top of the stairs. It turned out to be a grocery bag, and I stopped and remembered how long he'd been gone.
If other people's pets can have such a lasting impact on my life, I can only imagine what you must be feeling. But another part of me is glad you got to enjoy each other's company as much as you did, for the time you had together.
Best and sincere wishes,
Christina
Kim,
My heart sunk as I read your news. I think anyone who has loved and lost knows how brutal it can be. We've never met but, we are with you. We love the kitties here in dogland too. I'm sure your memorial post will be beautiful.
Sending my heartfelt support from another hopeless animal lover ... I, too, have been there many times, and I don't regret adopting one of my many animals. As long as i have the capacity to care for a homeless pet (or five), they will share my home. I know you are cut from similar cloth. Bless you and your cats.
I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I lost my baby a few years back and felt such a sense of sadness. I hope you feel better soon!
My heart cries. Sometimes life is not fair. Mourn your baby. Remember we are here for you, crying also.
I am sorry about your sweet pet. Sending you warm thoughts on this tough day.
Thank you all for your kind words - I've been fighting back tears reading them throughout the day. It's made today a bit easier to get through.
(Hugs back to you Sydney. I'm sorry for your recent loss)
My fourteen year old very healthy cat died of a heart attack with no warning a couple months back, and I was heart broken. I know what you're going through, and I'm so very sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear about your loss. I know how you feel. It's too awful when they leave us. Hope you feel better very soon. I love looking at all the pictures you share, thanks so much. Your work is not trivial, but we understand ... hard to do the daily stuff when you're hurting. So glad your sweet cats have you for a mom.
So sorry to hear about you cat, nice things can be a good distraction when you sad
Oh Kim, you have my deepest condolences for your sad loss. I have been visiting your lovely blog for a few years now, and never left a comment before. It is one of the extremely few that I enjoy, and I so admire you and Jo for juggling so much else in your lives and still finding the energy and time to provide such a delightful place to come to. I lost my beloved Zoe ( a black and white part Persian fluff ball) nearly a year ago, and miss her more than I can say. Sometimes getting on with the trivial things helps us get through it. Seems a bit forward, but I feel I know you, so I send a big cyber-hug.
I am very sorry for your loss. Thank you for your continued dedication to your blog - I truly enjoy it.
Please accept my deepest heartfelt sympathies. Sending wishes for peace, blessings.
I'm so sorry. My favorite cat died 10 years ago and I still miss him. I'm sure you gave your cat a happy and loving life.
Irreplaceable - so sorry for your loss.
