The queen of darkness
I was shocked to discover recently that we have never done a proper post featuring the brilliance that is designer Abigail Ahern. Jo and I have been obsessed with her for years, as her dark, dramatic and vintage approach to decorating is so appealing to us both. I'm sure most of you are familair with her work and these photos, but I had to share because Abigail ROCKS and I feel the need to sing her praises. (To white or to black...that is the question....)
LOOOOOOVE the penguin lamp above that Abigail designed as part of her new collection for Debenhams.

Oh my...she had to be English - they do quirky and eclectic to perfection. Is everything black or dark blue do you think? Love...
this place is so freaking magical - it evokes art and literature and music. Wish I could stay there a week - I am sure I would write some amazing songs!

Absolute love! And...nothing white. This is a great post.
Love the moodiness of the dark mixed with the quirkiness, fabulous lamps too.
@Julie- She tends to use Farrow and Ball paints- a few of her faces are Down Pipe, Railings, and Hague Blue. Loved her since a few years ago. Dark and magical spaces!
Some nice elements like the red lamps and brightly colored chairs... But i find the darkness quite depressing.
Yeah, Kim! Now Desire to Inspire is filled completly. Thanks!
LOVE dark walls. Also the vases, chandeliers, and rugs she uses! Wow, these are are some beautiful and fun spaces.
Oh my, I couldn't live with black walls, but I love this so much! The Schnauzer lamp, the purple flocked mirror, the flowers in the last photo, that red articulated lamp... Also I love the way the bookshelf wallpaper looks hung in single strips on the black walls. Bravo!
