Louisa Grey

I love the modern, graphic feel of the work of international interiors stylist and creative director Louisa Grey. Eclectic and stylish. Pattern, contrast, a sense of illustration.

Love it all. That mod upholstered bed is off the hook!

bold uses of pattern, and interesting placement of lighting - some of it a bit too low for my liking (i.e., cool looking but not necessarily practical... ;) )

Usually a sense of disconnection between the setting and the decor is a problem, but in Grey's work it's become the theme. It's all so light and unanchored; everything can be in the back of a van and on the way to the next house within an hour, where it will all sort itself out. It's very Chagall -- the way his self-contained objects seem to float above the canvas, unable to fathom having a set place! The bedroom with the wall of light is brilliant, and definitely shows off the designer's form, in choosing portable furnishings, refusing to be bound to the expected, and mixing patterns.
