Grey, black and white
This apartment is nothing fancy and isn't too "out there"....it's sort of JUST RIGHT. The colour scheme is right (grey $ white with black accents is always so good), the wood flooring and accent walls are gorgeous and add some warmth, the kitchen is picture perfect, and the subway tiles/stone keep things a bit more graphic than boring drywall. Yep, I could settle in quite nicely here. Again via The Village

The design choices were good, updated 50's that really worked. I'm anti-subway tile BIG time, but this is one instance it actually works just the way it is intended to. I'd feel a compulsion to listen to Leonard Cohen and wear color-blocked clothing -- again, that works. :) Oh, the furniture! Cohesive, practical and *adorably* chunky!
In the first picture, featuring a view of the dining table, do you know what type of blinds were used? They appear to be wood and another material. Do you think it is just the way they are opened? Is the wood a separate structure altogether? I'm so confused:). Any help would be appreciated!
oregonbird - cracking me up as always. :-)
T., I think the wood you're seeing may be part of a balcony beyond. My best guess.
Are they subway tiles or bricks?
I think you're right. Optical illusion :). Thanks for your reply!
who makes the desk and the coffee table/?
Jacky Chan must have been in this house -- 12 karate-chopped pillows in total !!
I think it needs one red cushion and one red bowl!
I'm liking the radiators on the wall. I've never seen them out in the open like that before without looking completely out of place.
