Stalking leftovers

I'm very finicky when it comes to my virtual real estate stalking. Fussy, particular, choosy, picky and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable, can't quite put my finger on it listings but all with something that has me nodding "yes". Here is my almost made it shortlist for the week. A mixed bag including Walter Burley Griffin's Grant House (ignore the furniture, the house is an icon), a modernist concrete block house in Mt Eliza that also needs a lot of TLC, a rambling Queen Anne style house in Armadale which has to be the most OTT  home on the market at the moment, a little church in the country and an art gallery where if I tell the truth, I love the old Victorian era home above the shop but it's really the PNG artwork I'm crazing. Click on the images to head to the listings. All via realestate.com.au.

The kitchens in Castlecrag and Redcourt (Armadale) make me sad. I love sleek, modernist design but in these two examples it's been taken a bit too far and sits awkwardly against the aesthetics of the rest of the home. The Burradoo kitchen, in contrast, is a perfect blend of modern convenience with a gracious acknowledgement of the house's age and location.

[laughs] Can you tell I've been working on plans for my own kitchen reno?

Also, Redcourt's owners should ask for a discount from the real estate agents: the headline on that listing says "address available on request" but when you scroll down to the description it opens with, "Located at 506 Orrong Road, Armadale..." It's true, there is no such thing as privacy on the interwebs.
