Designers and their blogs
Welcome to what I hope will become a semi regular post on Desire to Inspire. Hands up those who love room porn. Hands up those who pour over pictures of a beautiful home for inspiration and just a little aspiration. Hands up those who would like to know what was in the designer's mind when she (or he) first conceived such a wonderful space. Where does the architect or interior designer get their inspiration from? What takes their fancy? What and where and why and who.
Shareen Joel is one of Australia's leading designers (Shareen Joel Design). Think interior architecture, product design and design strategies. I've featured her work before (here and here). Today she has shared one of her latest projects, the Sorrento Beach House, shortlisted for the Australian Interior Design Awards 2012 in the residential decoration category. It's a wonderful family weekender and you can find out more about the project and the inspiration behind Shareen's work by visiting her blog Share Design except it is more than a blog. It's "the ultimate resource for home, interior & design inspiration".
As Shareen told me when we were emailing back and forth during the week ... "Primarily Share Design is a one stop online design hub/website sharing an edited collection of the very best interior design products, inspiration, secrets, tips and ‘how to’. So whether you just want to find that great kitchen tap, that perfect white paint colour or how to achieve that Belgian look for your own home, Share Design has done all the hard work for you. Plus you can save your Share Design favourites and create interactive Storyboards to share with family and friends."
It's a great resource and wonderful eye candy! I'm sure you are going to love it. And more of the Sorrento Beach House? It's after the jump.
