Monday's pets on furniture - part 1

If you'd like to send me photos to include in next week's "pets on furniture" post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off...and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it's dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com and PLEASE don't send closeups of your pet!)

Every time I go to visit my dad's cousin we spend hours each morning talking in her bedroom chatting about life.  This trip, each day when I went in the room we found Casper napping in the exact same position.
- Chrystina (Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles)

These are our dogs, Leela (top) and Bailey (bottom) sitting with our recently finished DIY project, a mid-century modern chair we picked up of the side of the road. I've also included a photo of the 'before' state of the chair. Leela had meandered under it for a rest the day we were working on it in the backyard this passed summer.
- Michelle & Mark (Toronto, ON)

coco would love to submit this pic for pets on furniture....she's on an ikea bookshelf next to the good old kartell lamp...
- Tarnya

Our one year old little dude, Gary, claims every piece of furniture in our home. Couches, chairs, beds, tables...nothing is out of bounds in his mind.
- Amanda (Toronto)

The first picture features a media console I built and was trying to photograph (sans kitties) for my blog. The divas, Lily and Stinkerbelle, would not stay off the console. They live for a good photo op...The second one is of Lily soaking up some rays on the same console.
- Donna (Huntsville, AL)

This picture is of one of my cats, Moo Moo. She loves lounging on her retro cat bed (etsy) as well as our furniture. She always hops right in and claims her spot!
- Lisa

1 - We are living at home with two cats and one dog at Bosphorus İstanbul. Here is a photo of our English Bull Terrier. His name is Kafa, in good boy position on our George Smith sofa.
2 - Again Kafa ( means head ) our lovely good boy on his favourite Finland Furniture sofa.
- Burcu (Arnavutköy, İstanbul, Türkiye)

My husband and I just re organized our bedroom to have a little "nook".  I tried to take a picture to send to my mom to show her, but Lily, our french bulldog, wanted to be in the picture too.
- Katie

Leroy is obsessed with the birds outside so I usually find him hear making chirping sounds. Chair is thrifted Modern Danish and covered in sheepskin. Pillow is a local silkscreener that makes cityscapes of our fair city.

Leroy is so cute but struggling to look outside; Carol, maybe you could move the chair or a table close to the window so he could sit and look out? My cats love bird-watching also and I make sure they have comfy spots by the windows to keep them happy and busy.

Leela is so sweet. And Bailey, you're such a gentledog.

The retro modern bed that Moo is sleeping on is from etsy seller likekittysville:

I have two dogs and her favorite place is the couch, I love the photos.

Leroy does make it to the window.....the whole window spans about 15 feet with a big ledge so when there is no bird action he will sleep there. For some reason when the birds are active he likes to be back from the window in bounding-mode.

Love the handmade white console from Huntsville, Al. Might we have more details on how it was made, etc.? It is beautiful, as are the cats.

What a lucky mid-century chair! Rescue furniture is the best. ;-)

Carol, I hear you about Leroy. I can see the ledge is deep. My cats hunker down low, too, when they see the birds so they won't scare them off. I love those chirping sounds the cats make. I told my husband they are singing to the birds and he said they want to eat them.
