Monday's pets on furniture - part 1
If you'd like to send us photos to include in next week's "pets on furniture" post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off...and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it's dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com and PLEASE don't send closeups of your pet!)
Although she isn't technically a 'pet', this is Olive an orphaned wombat which my parents hand-reared and released into the wild at their Farm in North-east Victoria. Here, Olive is pictured on one of the furniture pieces designed and crafted by my father.
- Hana (Lima East, Australia)
Pete...my 20 year old cat on "his" couch. I don't even try to sit on it anymore.
- Stephanie
Here is my cat Harris lounging on my Danish hutch that I found at the Salvation Army amongst my mid-century ceramics collection. Luckily he isn't really able to knock anything over since it is all earthquake puttied down.

We just got a new couch - antique, blue velvet... yum. Our cat, Maggie, clearly approves of our choice!
- Jen
Mid-Century Modern Hepcat at home on his Eames Aluminum Group Sofa Model 3473.
- Martin (Edgewater, NJ)
This is George, our 3 year old British Blue. He's not very clever, but he strikes a good pose!
- Jenny and Jason (Camberwell, London)
Mr. Lucky Waggers in the morning light
- Shannon
This is my foster cat, Blossom. She's sitting on a chair I reupholstered with hand-dyed fabric. Blossom is up for adoption (details HERE), and I hope she finds a forever home with lots of comfy chairs.
- Jen (Toronto)
His name is Odin, a Great Dane/Saint Bernard this is his favorite spot to nap. To give you an idea of how big he is: I am 5'4" and I can curl up in that chair!
- Dezi (Washington State)
Wanted to share my two cute and fluffy cats that always find the most random places at home to hang out.
- Cassandra (La Jolla, CA)
Lucille on her floral thrift store chair
- Louise (Greensboro NC)
The golden girl sisters lounging on the sectional.

THE WOMBAT IS CUTE BUT THE CHEST OF DRAWERS IS OUT OF THIS WORLD, WHAT A GORGEOUS WORK OF ART, A VERY TALENTED FATHER, THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL........
20-year old Pete is very cute. I'm glad he has a comfy couch upon which to spend his retirement!
I love them all but I have to single out Blossom, because she needs a forever home!
Jen, you are awesome for fostering!
All SO cute! And beautiful photography, furniture. You must get so many entries for Pets on Furniture!
I could hardly see Harris "hiding" amid those ceramics! He fits right in. :)
I like the image of the kitty on the wooden rafters.
I love Pete and Harry.
Amazing post and really nice blog!!!
Aaaw, they are so lovely. Thank you for including my cats!
Loved being parted of your blog today.
I'm kind of in love with the oversized scrabble tiles on Jen's wall (above Maggie). Anyone know where to find them? (and can anyone score better than JAW out of those letters - 13 pts)
Found where to get those scrabble tiles!:

Kyle, thanks for finding the scrabble tiles. Love! And I can beat your JAW with QUAY (use the blank tile).
I LOOOOOOVE Odin - that is just so funny, what a lucky dog!
That wombat is so adorable, and I absolutely LOVED the drawers! so unique and perfect marriage of wood and metal
I agree with Karen, the chest of drawers the wombat is enjoying is incredibly amazing! And of course loved all the adorable pets!
This is Jen with the oversized Scrabble Tiles (above Maggie). They were actually a DIY. There's a tutorial on my blog here:

It's not too hard and a lot cheaper than buying them :)
Thanks Jen - great DIY project. I was considering trying to make these myself, but was getting hung up on having to rout out the letters, but painting them seems like a great compromise to save some $$$!
I love all of these guys - Olive the first wombat on furniture I've seen, and Odin had me laughing out loud! But I'm very curious about Harris and the earthquake putty. How does that work? Does it stick to the finish? My cat gets into everything, so I have sort of resigned myself to not having any nice vignettes up until now.
What breed is Mr. Lucky Waggers? He is sure cute! Mid-Century Hep Cat is a relative of mine. He is sooo hep on his Eames!
