Garden tales

The weather is warming in the Southern Hemisphere and a design blogger girl's mind turns to gardening. I love overgrown, leafy spaces with a space for entertaining, a spot to read the paper, sip tea, perhaps a vege garden, some fruit trees, fabulous colour. Nothing too formal. Something just a little different but always with lovely, large leaves and vigorous, vibrant vines. I've always been a fan of Australian garden designer Rick Eckersley. Rick and partners Scott Leung and Myles Broad of Eckersley Garden Architecture must have read my mind. How perfect are both of these gardens!

The mossy, slatted wall. The overgrown, grassy steps. Sigh.

Hi Jo,

Thanks for blogging about our gardens. The first garden is actually Myles' own place and is filled with vibrant colour, native and exotic plantings and perfect spots to relax in.
The second is an amazing garden on the Mornington Peninsula (1hour out of Melbourne) which is owned by a lovely couple that have nurtured the garden to become a full lush soulful space.
You can see it in the latest issue of Belle Magazine or on our website http://www.e-ga.com.au

Thanks again!

The vine growing up the front of the house is a Crimson Glory Vine.
