Casas del sol
Thu, 24 Mar 2011Australian designer Christina Saenz de Santmaria emailed us about Casas del Sol, the tropical contemporary villas on the island of Koh Tao, Thailand that she designed and had built during the last few years. They officially opened this month and are what Christina calls 'boutique beach chic' = understated luxury within a modern tropical design that captures the sensory island experience of sea, sun and stars. The views are spectacular and I can't imagine how incredible it would be to be able to enjoy this magical country from one of her dreamy villas. *sigh*

Yeah, that's a place I could vacation for weeks...months! Lovely! The industrial style isn't so cold as I normally perceive it. I like what was done!

If I squint I can just make out the place where I stayed last time I was at Koh Tao - a $10 a night shack on the beach. This however might have to take its place on the next trip. Love the pool :)

I'm realizing that although I am a pathological design junkie, with a serene private setting and other-worldly view of nature from gigantic windows, who cares what the decor looks like?! Nature will always be my #1 decor choice.
