The best of Metropolitan Home

Hey folks - there's a design book I got my hands on recently that I had to tell you about. It's called Design 100 (Filipacchi Publishing 2010), and was created by former features editor Michael Lassell of the now defunct magazine Metropolitan Home. The book features 100 houses, apartments, lofts or rooms that were created by the best designers and architects of our time and each holds a title, such as "Most Meditative Master Suite”, "Best Modern Makeover of a Historic House" and "Hottest Shot of Color in Miami". I really enjoyed it and was really curious to see what homes would be featured under each category. Below are 4 spaces from the book - if you'd like to know what these were the best of, you'll have to go buy the book (which you can do via Amazon). ;)

there is something about those chairs in the second image that bug me... the crossed legs in the back. I don't know.

BUT, the third image with those beams??? unbelievable. they are gorgeous!

Hey! In the 2nd picture, that is a David Trubridge light hanging from the wood ceiling! That's my father-in-law :) hehe

I need that book. Met Home was my favorite magazine. I hope my three favorite designers have rooms featured: Jamie Drake, Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz and Frank Roop.

Nice examples, but I think there could be more classical and vintage stuff in the likes of Sinatra from Delightfull (http://www.delightfull.eu/sinatra_floor.html).

I believe I saw something about their presence in Architectural Digest. I'm going to check them out because I saw 2 or 3 lamps that I liked very much, and I'm curious about what they have to offer.

This is wonderfully creative. Everyroom has such a wonderful feel and atmosphere in so many different ways. The chairs in every room are so unique yet match the room perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing.
