Too much?
I am a huge fan of industrial touches in a home....but sometimes people should quit while they're ahead. I found this apartment on a site from Israel called bvd, and while I love some of the finishes, all in all it's pretty much a prison cell, but a bit larger. I'm sure there are some men out there who are saying "WOW - that's COOL!!" but I'm sure that sentiment would be short-lived after living here for a while. Your thoughts?

All of the seating looks incredibly uncomfortable. Good bones, but this was definitely designed by an architect and needs a softer touch.
The color cast of the photography was also unfortunate. I like the physical layout.
Nightmare
It could be a cozy space station.
But I'd lose the will to live before I could open a can of soup in that kitchen.
maybe it doubles as a setting for Israeli army themed gay porn
High chic for Soviet Russia, maybe.
it is completely void of any wood elements, among other things. i love the floors, and the coffee table on casters. but it's waaay too frigid for me.
It really does look like a submarine! I think it's a little cold and unwelcoming for my taste. I need some warmth for me to be happy!

me thinks someone just learned how to weld..... it reminds me of the house i built after i learned how to paper mache.... it lasted till the next rain :(
I agree. Watching these images already make me feel sad, let alone living there. You are right - short lived.
Definitely a man cave - and your guests wouldn't linger too long over dinner...
I think the only way this space could possibly work is with a high contrast in style between the space and furniture - I'd bring in vibrant coulours and a mix of antique / mid century furniture to make it really stand out against the space.
Oh and would also need a complete bathroom remodel!! Who would want to shower in a steel box - and brush their teeth in a sink the size of a shot glass! Not me!!
Shiver.
It's kind of cool in ways but only works as a whole on a commercial level, like maybe as a bar, restaurant or hotel design. It makes me long for my slippers when I look at the space. I also hate the frumpy, crinkled curtains - eww.
I realized awhile ago that when I judge decor images, I am more highly influenced by the aesthetic and the composition of the photograph than anything else. I hardly ever look at any image in a practical way, rarely attempting to picture myself in the places you post. It made me question if I really do like modern minimalism.
Anyway, I love the first image, and I love their use of sheet metal (although not on the seating). But once you propose that I look at this pragmatically (for once)? Yeah, it does not offer the tactile comfort of home.
I agree. I am also a big fan of industrial touches, but this is just blah. Too much metal. Too much gray. Not enough life.
I love your site and the beautiful things you share. But this industrial design seems to heavy for my taste. Perhaps because I like white and pastel colors. I'm Portuguese and it,s the first time I comment one of your posts. Thanks for share so wonderful ideas...
Totally depressing...just looking at the pics is depressing! I can't imagine living there.
It's like a prison, but with a better bathroom
yeah, come to think of it, the bathroom is hideous, too
All those straight lines! Makes me long for something frilly, and I'm not a girly-girl at all.
Das Experiment...
Knowing when to stop is the most important element of decorating...or else things do get out of hand...like in these images...that's industrial look gone too far and in a wrong direction at that...but i'm sure it would have some takers..'to each his own', i guess.have a great weekend!! xx meenal
It looks like Gattaca's deco: http://www.downeu.com/video/140578-gattaca-1997-bdrip-by-norm.html (second pic).
Great Interior, unique, I think is really well balanced, the ceramic Floor and Lighting add a lot of warmity. Its Isrrael!, so the exteriors and city feeling must have been crucial in the whole design.
