Emily Gilbert
It's easy to see that New York interiors and architectural photographer Emily Gilbert started her career as an artist, even moving on to be a set dresser for TV and film. She loves a room. She loves the contents. She understands what makes a room tick. She composes, she almost caresses, she snaps. It's gorgeous. You can follow how she approaches her commissions on her blog and drink in even more fab photos over there.

Oh wow! Some amazing textures and color. It all looks so elegant.
The Cheeky Cafe
Love the fact that they even snuck (sneaked?) in a few pets on furniture!!!
That second photo... wow! Fabulous!!
I know the guy that custom made the white glass table in the first photo—the photographer captured it nicely!
I'm always looking for something unique, something I've not seen before. What caught my eye here is the rounded wood crown moulding and the wood wainscoting in the bathroom. That is a piece of WORK! Is that a giant cat on the blue chair or a regular cat on a doll chair?
Oooh, pretty!
Ha! I had the same reaction as Kathi on the cat...it looks Lynx sized! Beautiful spces...love the Vizsla on the sofa...
Agreed that bathroom with the marble and wood is one of the most beautiful things I`ve seen in awhile
Wow! What a beautiful photos, I love the photos, it's so cool. Keep posting beautiful photos. Thanks.
Just your description alone, makes me like her work:)
Definitely will check out her blog.

I love that lavender space! Wonderful side-by-side in Rue today, ladies. Here's hoping your paths will finally cross in 2011!
Thanks Mackenzie! I just saw the article a couple of minutes ago and had quite a chuckle at the artist's drawings of us. :)
Thanks for the great post Jo & Kim. What a nice surprise post to come across! A few answers to some of the questions: Big cat!/Normal chair. The floor in the bathroom with the marble tub is actually a tile floor. Thanks to everyone for your kind comments! Made my day.
I have NEVER seen a better representation of 'Oh yes, my family's had money for generations!' decorating. Wow. It's like the Gatsby's dropped by for a temporal visit. There's even great stuff for them to throw at each other. LOVE the b/w dining room - the storage is beyond inspired.
It's been too long since I've caught up with my blog reading and what a lovely way end the evening is to see one my favourites blogs doing so well - BIG CONGRATS to you both for all your hard work ... looking forward to getting caught up with all of you lovelies!
