Katarina Malmström Brown

Swedish-born Katarina Malmström Brown is a phenomenal photographer who has worked for just about every decent European magazine out there - Allt i Hemmet, Bo Bedre, every Elle there is, Hus & Hem, Residence, Sköna Hem (she currently operates out of London, Stockholm and Los Angeles), and it's clear why she's so popular. Her photos are vibrant and eye-catching, and the spaces themselves are spectacular. I'm taking notes, on both the decor and the photography.

Have fallen in love with that green couch! I live in Spain so it's not so easy finding stuff - does that look like suede or leather or a whole different fabric altogether? We just bought a loft and would LOVE to have something like that. If I have it made specially, what are some of the key words I should use? Double with for example? Need help!

Sorry - meant double width!

Christine, the couch is a sectional (L-shaped) and it may be made of micro suede (it's hard to tell).

You're right, these are fantastic! My very favorite thing out of all these photos has to be that mirror! The choice of colors, frame, design - awesome! I love the white rooms with the bits of color and then those booth-like space!

I love the Mona Lisa wall graphic in the 9th photo! What a good idea for decoration, giving such a classic piece of art a different flavor!

It seems Europeans like chalky white walls, black accents, and *words*.

The second photo from the bottom is exquisite.

Finally, a place where pink pouffs look perfect.

Wow...these rooms, probably my favorite post. There are so many details...it's hard to figure out where to look first!

Her work is beautiful! I seldom click through to the source site, and had to do it here. So few photographers can capture how cool plaster wall finishes look. I am also in love with the styling in each shot. Gives me lots of ideas of things I can do that I can actually live with.

Such cheeky fun. Love the cat in the first photo, lol. With that first photo, Kim, you are fueling my current obsession with trunks and busts. (That sounds rude, doesn't it; one of fun things aobut DTI).

Very impressive, Katarina obviously has a talent for quality design, from a photography perspective her angles and lightning are top draw!
