Some great ideas, and beautiful spaces! Shoe storage is a constant struggle for me, has been since my feet stopped growing and my collection ballooned! I have too many shoes and live in old houses with not enough closet space. =( Maybe I just need a beautiful piece of furniture just for shoes...
I admit it, I am a shoe addict! Funny that I came across this post right after reorganizing my shoes shelves after adding a few during my recent trip to Europe. What fabulous examples for storage. I love the buffet idea and that Ash Kötur made use of the ledge on the side of a staircase. Most of mine are in clear boxes, which a few years ago saved most of them in a fire. So I am committed. I used to have photos on the outside, but never found the time to reshoot all of them. Perhaps one boring Sunday.....
Fantastic! I was giving my friend some ideas to store her shoes(she really needs help), and I'll definitely show her your post. Thank you for sharing...
Oh! I love it - I was actually going to send you a related request. Have you ever done a post on organized open entry-way closets? My entry way closet needs a serious overhaul and I can't find any photo inspiration (blah).
Clearly these people don't live in a snowy country where everything gets wet, dirty and slushy. I'm still hoping to find "the" perfect way to store dirty shoes and still make it look good.
If you guys have any ideas, please send them my way!
Does anyone know where to find the perspex shoe rack (image 10) or something very similar? Its exactly what I've been looking for but can't seem to find anything close. Thanks!
A great idea was one I saw on a different site. Take a bookcase and turn it on it's side and lay it down. use the spaces to place shoes. If you desire you can build a divider to be able to separate more shoes. You can take it 1 step further and create a bench seat pad and use it as a seat for putting on your shoes as well.

I keep my shoes on the stairs to entresol but some of these ideas are really cool :)
i guess they're right - nothing spells success like excess. yikes.
Shoes! <3 Mine are hanging in a shoe holder on the back of my bathroom door.
This is what I created for mine! http://luckybydesign.blogspot.com/2010/08/diy-shoe-wall.html
I think I need to buy more shoes!

I'd have to go with the ronnyholley. Most organized and basic

Love it! I should have thought of some of these before my ever-so-wonderful bratty puppy chewed up half of my shoes!
Oooh! The magazine rack is a great storage idea! It works for your heels and flats. . .....................................................
I like this idea but, How do you secure the PVC pipe model? Is it glued?..

How can you reach the shoes on the picture from ko.ttur? I like the other ideas! I can use some of them in my home! Thank you for sharing!
