A completely renovated first apartment

We received an email from Ron and it started off like this: "I'm 27 years old and live in Tel Aviv Israel, currently an industrial design student. Me and my girlfriend just bought our first apartment and decided to design it completely by ourselves." Now before I continue I have got to show you a few of the before photos.

And some info on what went on after they had their way with their new apartment:
"In short we re-did the whole place:
Tore down the wall in the kitchen opening it up to the living room and dining area.
United the the bathroom making one long and spacious bathroom
Made the bedroom bigger by closing a indoor balcony.
A bar that comes out of the wall.

I personally designed and built most of the items seen in the pictures:
Large wall clock
Floating unit below the tv
round table and red chairs
table, pipe lamp and the cats playing area which is hung in the red room
faucet in the bathroom
wooden bar
lights in the living room (with red cords)
bed and side table in bedroom.
"

I cannot even put into words how in awe I am of Ron's talent. Seriously. This apartment is FULL of creative and such well-executed items. See for yourselves. (I told him I may steal the cat play area idea). Check out his website HERE.

And SO MUCH MORE after the jump.

Gorgeous! Very inspiring!

This is truly inspiring. The bathroom and cat perches are so smart. It might have been fun to have some kind of modern gathering table and high stools for dining. But, that's minor. As it is, I see several weekends of home decor improvement in my future!

This is just brilliant. I love the wall clock. I love the floating unit beneath the TV, and the cat area, just to name a few. What talent! Great work. Somebody has a really good eye.

Blessings,
Orea

Love the wood (or ersatz wood) flooring. Wood is a rarity in Israel, yet I'm sick of all the damned stone floors over there! This guy came up with a terrific alternative. Bravo!

The clock and faucet/towel rack are brilliantly clever as well. Not into desks or tables that face the wall (i feel like I'm in detention!) but what inspired ideas all around. Keep up the good work!

Wish his contact info was up; I'd like to hire him when I buy my Israel Apartment or House!

Thank you for sharing your creativity. My favorite features were the brick wall, clock, recessed shelves in the dining area, the bathroom faucet and the open kitchen. Have you finished any interior design projects since this was done?

So original and clever. Can you describe how you treated the exposed brick wall? I have a kitchen brick wall that I'm working on. My ex designer said it would be unhygienic and would hold grease!! I'm told to wire brush, vaccuum it then seal it with 1 part urethane, 2 parts sealant. Thanks for your suggestions.

Wow! Fun, creative, stylish and functional! You even thought of the cat's comforts. Congratulations. You and your girlfriend came up with a great, clean lines design.

AMAZING WORK!!!!THE WALL CLOCK...NICEEEEE THE COLOR SEQUENCE IS FANTASTIC...

The ugly bed let it down

That is some very beautiful work. I don't know if the designer was fully involved in the furniture placement and acquisition. The "office" with the small desk placed so that the occupant has his back to the door is terrible feng shui. Beyond that, it is amazing.

The after pictures are really cool. I didn't expect a big change to happen like that. Ron and his girlfriend did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.

LOVE it!!!! I think the wall clock in the living area is my favorite feature but the whole think is just awe inspiring!!!

Hi Kim, brilliant job. Particularly like the wall clock, really cleaver and eye catching. Where did you get the large arms? The kitchen looks great too. If I had a cat I would attempt something like your sitting station, great!
Cheers,
Alecia

Really the overall finish looks both functional and comfortable. I really like the look of the living area and in particular the easy
care nature of the floors. Great job.

Great pics - I live the little clocks making one big clock and the cut out lighted bookcase. Beautiful!
