Tale of two cities 1 + 2

I'm stalking Melbourne and Sydney. Daydreaming again. (News on my own house search. We signed on a house here in Brisbane only to have it fall over on building and pest ... termites ... eek! The search goes on again. See what I bought instead on my page.) The first house today is from Prahan in Melbourne. Love the kitchen counter, the ladder and lights. Love the bones of this house, the bathroom vanities and the practical backyard. The second house, after the jump, is in Redfern in Sydney with recycled timbers, a loft bedroom and clever layout for a tiny space. Funky and fun, warm and quirky. The perfect inner city pad. Oh and I decided to add a third house just to even things up in the competition.

And because there were only 4 photos on the listing I thought Melbourne had an unfair advantage so I've included this little grey house in Rozelle, Sydney just to even up the contest. What about that tiny tropical backyard!

Beautiful houses! Hope that you would be able to find a house of your choice soon.

Love,
Elise.

I LOVE the one in Redfern! It's modern, warm, and cozy without being stiffling, something rare to come by so close to the CBD.
ALthough, I may just be biased because I live Redfern :)

Sydney wins! Although I'm probably a bit biased.

Wow! I wish I lived over there so that I could have a living room opening out onto the patio!

I love the Sydney house the best! Just look at the tiny marvel that is that backyard! Amazing! I love Australia!

I love the first house, the one in Prahan-really love those cage pendants hanging over the breakfast bar. And the wooden vanities?- to.die.for. Whoever lived in that house sure had taste (or had a really good staging company).

That long wooden counter in the first few photos is amazing. Is is furniture? Is is cabinets? Who cares. It is amazing.

The first house is great, love the open space with the great wooden kitchen counter. plus you do have outside space.
The hallway is too beautiful.
BUT, nothing beats the outside space in the third home, oh the parties you could have there
All great homes...

Love the Prahan in Melbourne. Gotta git myself down to Australia!

The Prahan house wins hands down, total style and elegance. The Rozelle house is really charming. But the first image of the Redfern house......all those clashing timber colours and what on earth are those recesses that the stove and TV are in?????

I'm loving the Melbourne house (okay I admit I live in Melbourne) but that kitchen! All I can say is - I want one...

Hello from the California! All are beautiful homes and have their own unique appeal, but I personally am head over heels about the Melbourne house. My husband spent our honeymoon in Melbourne this past Christmas and loved it! Good luck with your house hunting.
