More retrolicious retro
Wasn't this picture just in a Swedish interiors magazine? Isn't that the hottest indie fabric on Etsy? Or was it in the last IKEA catalogue? Of course not. It's from this week's retro design book. (Golden Homemakers 100 Ideas to Beautify Your Home, Gudenian Rockail & Mayer, Marshall Cavendish, London, 1972.) So much to love in today's offerings ... and SO much to hate. That bathroom for one. Am I the only one to think the young girl below looks like the angelic psycho child from a bad blood curdling slasher horror film? Perhaps "Revenge of the Interior Designer's Children Part II"? They're coming to get you!!!

Great pictures! It's hard to go wrong with a little mid-century design every now and then =)
Black and white definitely sustain the pass of time better than other colour combos. I love B/W graphic print sofas. If you removed the TV and updated the rug, it would look quite stylish today. :)
Thank you so much for this post. I'm an absolutely 60s-70s design freak. I have to agree that the bathroom isn't the best - although it would look worse with an orange shag rug - and the kid's bedroom in that musty green could do with some 21st century uplifting. Other than that, love it!
I love these retro posts, they're so much fun to look at!
omg, that bathroom is brilliant!
The little girl and the bathroom are totally freaking me out.
The little girl seems to be screaming at us with her eyes..."PLEASE!!! GET ME OUT OF THIS YELLOW-BEIGE NIGHTMARE!!! DO YOU SEE THE ONE PIECE OF 'ARTWORK' THEY LET ME HAVE?! IT HAUNTS MY DREAMS!"
Love the retro shots!
I believe the bathroom is from a hotel I stayed in while tripping through the Mediterranean~LOL!
That bottom room is lovely. But oh, the oil-painted boudoir! Seven umbrellas?? Why!?
I think someone was tripping when they designed that bathroom!!
"All my friends have pink bedrooms. My parents hate me."
When you reload the page the doll in the girl's bedroom levitates. Reload it again and she's sitting in that bathroom. In the bidet.
pics 7 + 8, the green room (that art!) + the curved wardrobe!! are exactly why i LOVE 70's, + well, Jo, you made my day again.
