Monday's pets on furniture - part 1

If you'd like to send us photos to include in next week's "pets on furniture" post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. (Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off...and your pet happens to be sitting on it). And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it's dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com and PLEASE don't send me closeups of your pet!)

"The picture enclosed shows our Vizsla Vincent, 16 weeks old at the time the pix was taken. He loves to snuggle down on our Corbusier LC4 as this is the only piece of furniture he is allowed to sit on."
- Nicole (Neuss, Germany)

"without further ado, I present to you... Thomas, a 3 month old puppy which we recently adopted, Thomas is a very energetic dog who likes to choose his resting place very carefully as you can see for yourself"
- Adi

"This is Sailor, she is my 8 year olds Boston Terrier, she is under my boyfriend's pergola in Chicago IL."
- Ashley

"Photo 1: My fuzzy faux fur blanket has quickly become Mitzy's favourite spot in the house!
Photo 2: Mitzy loves posing for the camera. Here she is modeling at my desk!
"
- Adena (Toronto)

"Murphy, the family dog on the living room couch Christmas morning. He was surprisingly okay with the giant bow on his head."
- Sarah & Ansel

"Pets: Junior near pillow: Schnoodle,,, The other dog is Buddy a Pomapoo lounging on the bed"
- Mara

"I bought this breakfast table and chairs at Elan Collection vintage furniture shop in downtown Long Beach, California. Mao the teenage mutant ninja cat swears the original upholstery of the green chairs sharpen her claws far better than her cat tree so she visits the table constantly... But on the morning of her first Christmas she awoke to find a holiday tree with reflective dangly shiny things. She guarded it with her life for it was the most amazing thing she had ever seen.."
- Tatiana

"This is my rescue cat Jake Sully, as you can see he has had a hard time adjusting in his new home. Later the same day I found him in my dresser drawer, I went to fold laundry and low and behold look who I found."
- Gina (Portland, OR)

"Here is a photo of my cat, baba, doing what he does best, being weird but awfully cute...inside a drawer"
- Taylor

Beautiful pets today!
I would love to sit under Sailor's very cool pergola (but maybe not in the winter).

I think the Visla has very good taste... The Corbusier would be my choice too.

I subscribe to this blog and my favorite part is the pets on furniture posts. My boyfriend knows that I adore it, and share it every monday. So he surprised me by putting up a photo of my pup, Murphy, with out me knowing! What a fun surprise to see today!

dearest gina, oh, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, before you close the door to the dryer, always check the contents when shifting loads in the laundry. my best friend...well...uh...to put it delicately, lost, her brand new little kitten for not checking a load before she closed the door (and consequently and grotesquely, had to replace the dryer afterward as well). were it not for my own crazy cat's loud caterwauling, i might have lost those two things of my own through the exact same mistake as well. one never knows what curious kitties will do. your precious jakesully will have no second chance as an avatar.

gina, ditto to rhonda, my supervisor's cat died too because he was in the dryer and she didn't realize it before starting it. He died. She was beyond devastated. Many cats love to climb into warm places that look secure, such as clothes driers, in car engine compartments, and so on, and it can be a fatal indulgence. Gotta be very careful. I would always keep the dryer clothes door closed and not let him be in there. Jake's adorable. Take good care of him.
