A handmade home
Every once in a while I see a home featured on a website that makes me sit back and sigh in delight. This is one of those homes. My twin sister sent me the link to this home which I think is in Finland (since the site is) and is the home of a family of 5 where the mother creates beautiful knit objects and the father is a carpenter. I absolutely adore the rustic, natural, neutral and handmade vibe of this home. I think I'm going to save just about all of these photos in my inspiration folder. (More, including the gorgeous kitchen, after the jump).

@Frech, you are right!
This is the home of the gifted Ineke Visser, a Dutch designer who sells beautiful handmade stuff in her own online styling&design shop, HeinsHome.
For those of you who would love to pursue one of her products, please visit Ineke's shop at heinshome.nl
The black chair is from IKEA, according to the article. :)
These images gave me such a cozy feeling! Absolutely love how so many of the items used and displayed in this home are obviously made from the mom and dad... really special!!
This is the home of the owner from Heins Home. A Dutch company that produces knitted home accessories. All 100% handmade. You can find the website here: www.heinshome.nl

I'd love to spend a winter in that house!
What a cozy, natural hand-made home. One of my favorites!

Like the others said, this home is from someone from the Netherlands. There was an article about this woman in the VT-wonen in january 2010. Her name is Ineke Visser. This is the link to her site: http://www.heinshome.nl/

Those may be the largest knitting needles I have ever seen! Great re-use of broomsticks! :)
I want one....
Hi! Indeed this home is Dutch but was featured in a Finnish deco mag "Deko".
The house is only 1000 sqft in 3 floors!!
The couple, Inekke and Guido Visser actually make this knitted furniture, and they sell some too.
You can find more info on their web site in here: http://www.heinshome.nl/index.php
I am reader of the Finnish magazine where this is from and the article was about the house of the designer, she has an online shop with her husband: http://www.heinshome.nl/ Yep, it is in Holland.
I'm working on a cosy for a bottle like that now, already found the bottle at the flea market last weekend - for 5 euros! Love the flea markets in Belgium, where I live.
OMG!!! AWESOME home! Love it, but what really puts it over the top for me is the picture of the 3 covered vases! INCREDIBLE!!
Очень здорово! Нет слов! Мне понравились оригинальные вазы, огромные спицы и гармония во всем доме!
I'd like to find chunky yarn like that. I've looked and I just can't find any.
Can I know what kind of floor Is it in the kitchen area?
love love love, hadn't seen all these photos, just the first ones....sigh, do you have the original link, the one on the post isn't working, thanks so much!
Sorry Sara, looks like they maybe removed the story from the site as that link was working at some point. I do recall using just about every photo from the story with the exception of a couple.
Where would you get the rope-like yarn for the huge knitting she's doing? I want to make that ottoman and the spread on the bed!
I'm pretty sure this is the home of Ineke Visser, from Heins Home. She designs en produces beautyfull handmade stools, karpets, etcetera. This is her website. She is indeed Dutch.
