Risa Boyer
We recently received the following email from a reader named Cheryl: "I am an avid read of your blog and happen to know a very talented architect that you might like! Her name is Risa Boyer and she has an amazing talent for incorporating clean, modern architecture with mid century elements while maintaining the original integrity of the home. Her 35th Ave and 3806 projects are my favorite." I checked out Risa's website and completely agree that she has amazing talent. Below are photos from Cheryl's favourite projects of Risa's (they're my favs too) and a couple other projects. (Thanks for the tip Cheryl!)

Love the clean lines and modern aesthetic of this home. Gorgeous!!
Stunning architecture, Risa Boyer really talented architect.
I really like the exterior deck detail off the dining room. It looks like the exterior deck boards (looks like mahogany or some equivalent) are flush with the interior bamboo hardwood creating a really seamless transition from inside to outside. I always think its so important to have a strong visual connection to the outdoors from the principal interior living spaces. I also really like the proportion of the window above the master bed!
it's like a breath of fresh air
it's not LIKE a breath of fresh air. it IS a breath of fresh air. it's crisp, it's light, it's alive!
Crisp, bright, alive. I'm sold!
love love love all the timber
I love the aesthetic of these homes!
Love the freshness and the light ... great atmosphere!
Love the timber around the bath. Does anyone know if it's ok to use timber laminate around a bath? My joiner says she won't do it because it will eventually look horrible! I can't afford to use real timber so am looking for a good looking alternative ( not timber tiles tho") Thanks
Love the bathroom and kitchens!! Very nice...
Wow...how beautiful!!! Sooo elegant!!! I love this!!!
I love the mod vibe of the landscaping on that first house! It is so great when the design flows from indoors out! Love your blog!
Risa Boyer's work is an inspiration to me! I love everything she touches.
I love the eclectic flare and the sleek straight lines to this design. In some ways in the style of Frank Loyd Wright with his 'Genius in Simplicity'. I am thrilled by the way you pulled the retro feel together with a very comfortable forward looking contemporary touch but retain an over all usefulness and home like atmosphere.
