Lend me some money I'm immigrating
I am addicted to real estate sites, I'm addicted to the Scandinavian look and I stalk Alvhem. This is what I have found on my latest visit. I think I have cracked their code though. Take a large Swedish apartment. Paint white, strip coverings from the floor, make sure the light is good, fill with fabulous furniture including an obligatory iconic chair or two, design a sexy kitchen, style with accessories from your own homewares store where everything is so covetable that it hurts, make sure your clothing props are hip, employ a talented photographer and sell sell sell.

I agree! Wouldn't it be great to have a realtor work that hard for you??
Great - now I'm going to start another addiction after seeing this! I don't have time for the ones I already have! Have a great weekend! Tracey xx
nice, right? and did we know that pottery barn has a knock off of the wegner chairs on clearance for 149.99? not nearly as chic, but pretty cheap...

Does anybody know where the bookstand comes from in the beforelast image? I like it!!
I love the bedroom with the yellow painting and pink cushions. I'm Swedish myself and when I recently was looking for a new home I couldn't believe the degree of homestaging that goes on. Although it certainly sells the space I can't help but laugh when I see a big bowl of limes or muffins in this case! I don't see the people living here, I only see the person running around arranging the clothes on the bed and placing the picnic basket within the frame :-)
I forgot, Jos the bookstand is called Pilaster and was designed by John Kandell 1989 for Källemo. Very popular in Swedish homes. www.kallemo.se
Wow, this designer speaks the language of my heart!
Thanks Jo.
Can't help giggling, you are very welcome to Sweden, Jo. Alvhem does have a special style when they fix up a flat for sale, but we swedes do love the white and light. No doubt about that.
This place is great! I'd add some more rugs, colour and patterns but the space is to die for.
Um. Oh my god.
Jo, let's split the mortgage. I'm moving in with you!
You gotta have tulips arranged in an Alvar Aalto vase.
I love that! Except that corner fire place is so random. It completely does not go, in my opinion. Just looks really traditional with everything else.
Glad to see lots of white walls. My new apartment has white white white walls and carpet.
Love all the grey bedding, and those standing wooden bookshelves.
Every room is amazing...but that millwork and tile in the bathroom are to die for!!!!
I have been contimplating a trip to Amsterdam; this has sent me over the edge!
Thanks?@#$%?#%$^@
Love those Scandanavian Designers.
Oh, it's a nice look and so perfect it almost hurts...
But kiddding aside, the rooms are beautifully done.
The space is beautiful.. so serene. I do agree with Cassandra though, It looks like they renovated, but forgot all about the fireplace. I like the french doors that open to a teeny, tiny terrace. Cool view!
Freakin' awesome. Thanks for posting...
Okay, I love the photos but what I love most is your description: "everything is so covetable that it hurts..." How many times have I felt this way, especially when the fall catalogs come out, but couldn't quite articulate that familiar & painful flutter in my heart. And yes, looking at these gorgeous photos does hurt! :)
I am so in love Scandinavian homes that I've seriously been thinking about how I can go live there - at least for a little while. I love when you do these posts. Keep 'em coming!
Oh these are great. I have the Random Light in white, and I adore it!
Holy. Those orange verticals in the white bookcase, for starters, and then everything else. The taste in art is less adventurous than the taste in furniture, but the overall effect is pretty mod. Scandinavia is so far ahead in these things it's just stupid.
