House tour on Apartment Therapy

I've got big news! I have the honour of having my home featured on a house tour over at Apartment Therapy today. :-) Click here for the tour. I've been an avid follower of AT for quite some time, and have had some photos of my home(s) included in posts here and there but this is my first house tour. SO COOL. (I'm hoping their readers go easy on the comments as they can often get pretty foul). Here's a sneak peak of some photos I took for them of nooks and crannies around my house (not sure if these will be included in the tour).

CONGRATS, Ms. Kim! (Anna...I thought the SAME thing!) And if anyone says one bad word I'ma gonna punch 'em! Lovin' what I'm seein'! (I don't really need to gush over the kitchen again do I?)

LOL - if it were "fancy feast" that tray would be polished.

Thanks Anna and Uncle Beefy (no gushing necessary)!

LOVE the needlepoint cushions, they're gorgeous! Hmm, wonder where I put all of my needlepoint supplies?

Congrats Kim! You're so much braver than me. I couldn't do an Australian AT request for a tour because I'm too much of a coward :) Maybe in the new house .... on day ..... and anonymously. See I'm a coward!

Beautiful!

Might I inquire where the pillows came from?

Congratulations!! Wow, what a beautiful home. I never realised that you are in Ottawa, I'm Kim too but from just down the 417 in Montreal. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone!

Anon - the first comment on the AT tour was not a nice one, and it was removed. So maybe they're cracking down on the arseholes.

Jo - stop being a coward. If I can do it so can you!

Leaura - the pillows were all found on eBay (search for bargello)

Kim de Montreal - I'm hoping to get a shopping trip in your neck of the woods soon. Shopping here is TERRIBLE. We always try and hit the Mtrl shops when a new season starts. (And my house literally faces the 417).

Great tour, a real colourful delight!

I like all the colors in your home - and I just loooove the way you serve your cat food - I have to do the same!

Congratulations, Kim! You have an amazing sense of style - fresh and inspiring. Nice touch with the feline painting for the cat's space.

What great pics, very inspiring! And you have one very lucky cat!!

Thanks Kim and Janis! (and Janis, that would be SIX very lucky cats)

Just gorgeous! I love the colors and the way everything looks so lovely and comfortable all at the same time. Oh, and the cats' bowls rock!

mediocre.

Kim: why do you feel it so necessary to showcase your home as often as you do?
A tad self-righteous and narcissistic wouldn't you say?
Enough with the vanity. It's nice, we get it, but I am quite sick of the same old, same old.
I can see Jo can demonstrate restraint, moderation and modesty in the reluctance to display her home at every chance ~ that I appreciate.
I much prefer seeing a myriad of photographs by a variety of people. Spare us and practice some humility.

Is SG for real!? Or did she and nathan troll on over from AT?

25 Mar 2009 | Unregistered Commenterlsaspacey

Just read the tour on AT. So SG and nathan HAD to come over here because luckily everyone else loved your tour over there.

Also, no surprise that Felix is the kitty caught eating, huh?

25 Mar 2009 | Unregistered Commenterlsaspacey

I love when people don't have nice things to say. I wonder if nathan is the person who called my house horrible on one of the few times I showed it? Made me smile then and his comment made me smile now. Short and pithy and so not true :)

SG I don't not post my home because of modesty. I don't post my home because I am a LOUSY photographer. If I could take good shots like Kim and had a camera that wasn't a point and shoot camera for dummies I would post more. I think a lot of people like to see Kim's house because it is real and done with a budget in mind. Kim only posts her place on D to I occasionally and I love it when she does :)
