Villa & Villa

I was so excited to get an email yesterday from Maria of Villa & Villa, a Sydney based studio specialising in architecture, interiors and graphics. Maria is the interior and graphic design half of the firm, and Eduardo, her husband, is the architect. One of their latest projects is a beach house that Maria thought may be of interest to us. Let's just say I was so interested, that after looking at a few photos I realized I needed to take a breath. :) This home is so fascinating - from the design of exterior with it's floor to ceiling windows and amazing views to the simplistic modern yet rustic interior. What a talented duo!!

I couldn't stop with just this one home. So here are a few more examples of their designs. (And a big thanks to Megan Morton for sending Maria our way!)

I agree with you - it is lovely! The spaces are wonderful and it looks really cozy, something very hard to achieve for a brand new home :) these two know what they are doing :)

You're right. It's absolutely breathtaking. It's so lovely that I could imagine stepping in and only hours later noticing that there was a beach outside! :) This is what I've been trying to invision for years: a beach house that's kind of like a loft.

The first house reminds me so much of Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavillon. It's gorgous.

This is the first time I have been able to get near a computer in almost 24 hours and these spaces are the first thing I see and I'm in love. Can I move into the second home? Please. Wonderful vintage touches, lots of clean white and polished timber floors, brave use of colour and big bold beautiful artwork. Yum!
P.S. Who else remembers "finding" those red warning lights when they were a kid? My mum said it was stealing but why would someone leave them on the side of the road if they wanted them?

I adore those black walls! And Mateo is one lucky boy to have such a cool room. The rustic touches and wonderful art add so much to this home. (r8ermom)
