I just about fell off my blogging chair when I saw this post! I am finally (!) designing a new kitchen space for myself and have been going back and forth on the type of open shelving I will be using. I'm tiling to the ceiling with marble subway tiles in a herringbone pattern and have been trying to decide - do I use marble shelves on brackets, or stainless "commercial"-style shelving ? I think these photos have sold me on the stainless. They look great, function well and cost less!

I love your flickr finds, thanks for posting so many inspiring photos :)
I'm a long term user of these shelves - never thought of mounting them vertically, a eureka moment indeed. Great finds. Sheila
Wonderful and universal shelves! Thank you for all your great posts! :)
Best greetings from Belgium,

I have been looking for something to use in my office, and I think you just helped me out. Fabulous!
Of course you can turn them vertical. Why didn't i think of that. My fav post are your flickr finds.

Ha! So funny to see my kitchen on here...
I had no idea I had a kitchen-crush on these shelves until I saw them altogether in your post! These are gorgeous kitchens!!!
I like the way open shelving looks, but doesn't it get dusty or get oil spatted on it from the stovetop? How do you keep those surfaces clean?
