Jo's place

So I feel like a queen with a throne ... or should that be a blogger with a bad case of retro! My new peacock chair fills a corner of my office (it's HUGE!). For once I resisted the urge to paint a piece of furniture. It was such a lovely day today. The sun was streaming in through the window and all I wanted to do was climb into my chair and read a book. Sorry, too much blogging to do and besides a big comfy pillow is needed for the seat. It's hard on the old bottom! The wall is a work in progress and the Keep Calm poster is a present for a friend. You know I tried minimalism once but just couldn't do it. I wonder why?

My mom had two of these chairs in our living room when I was growing up. And she had such a decorative flair that they looked fabulous. I remember they flanked a huge carved Spanish table in front of a huge floor to ceiling picture window. You are right about the light streaming in and making wonderful shadows. Fun! Yours looks great. :)

Wow! Why doesn't my office look like that? No need to answer. I know why. It's a mess :) It looks like such a fun place to work

It looks GORGEOUS!!!! Wish Jeff would surprise me with stuff like peacock chairs. :) Anyhoo - thanks for the reminder of how much work I have to do in my office. I just got back from Benjamin Moore, and, $180 later, I'm finally ready to get started on it!

Thanks Abbey, Barb, Katie and Susie! I've still had little time to actually sit in it and relax. Kim what have you been buying? :)

Love the Keep Calm and Carry On poster framed in red. Some people say they are a passing trend but when I see one framed well I'm always drawn back to them again. Where is your desk? Are you sitting at it to take the photograph? Would love to see what sort of set up you have. Just realised how much I have written. Going back to lurk again.

I like the wall-in-progress and Keep Calm makes a contribution. Maybe when it goes to its new home, you might find something a little taller to casually prop in that spot, anchoring the wall-in-progress and wrapping your loveseat in art!
