We talk a lot about light when we feature photographers. Light, composition, colour, exposure, focus. I'm captivated by the portfolio of Alec Hemer. Beautiful light and clever composition make his work highly sort after by major magazines and for companies such as Williams Sonoma, West Elm, Design within Reach and Laura Ashley. His ability to capture the essence of a room is inspiring.

Love these - and how great is the photography grouping on the wall in that first photo!
It never ceases to amaze me that a great photograph can change my mind on how I like things. Normally I would say that most of these rooms do little for me and if I walked into them in real life I would probably think "eewwhhh" but this guy makes me want to stop and look closer. Guess that's a photographer's job.
