News from Crawford Alexander

Jo and I received a press release the other day that I had to share. It came from the guys of Crawford Alexander, the interior design shop here in Ottawa where I purchased pendants for my new kitchen.

"With great excitement Luc Crawford and Jamie LeBlanc, Ottawa’s Original Design Guys, announce the opening of their new location for Crawford Alexander Designer Boutique at 1089 Somerset Street West. After nearly 2 months of renovations, the dynamic duo have completely transformed this former used appliance depot to a fabulous Designer Boutique with their Designs By 2 studio offices located on site. Custom furniture designed by them and by other great Canadian & American manufacturers boasts an array of great fashion fabrics. Filling the shop is a selection of one of a kind lamps, rugs, pillows, bedding and amazing accessories hand chosen by them while on their design travels. The philosophy is simple, to provide products of unique shape, form and function at multiple price levels."

I am really excited about this announcement because their new location is just a couple blocks from my house. I am so anxious to check it out. Here is a sneak peek.

Beautiful store. I think the plan of action is coffee first to build our strength. Shop till we drop. Coffeee and debrief. Next weekend? I'll book the airline ticket over :)

I'll head over to check this store out soon. I love your blog!!

I just moved (from Westboro to Old Ottawa East) and I need help finding curtains that will "wow" without costing me a fortune! I have two big windows in my living room to cover.

Any suggestions for stores in Ottawa? I went to Ikea but I'm afraid they'll make my home look too "Ikea-ish", I'd like something more original.

Thanks in advance!

Another Kim in Ottawa (YAY!), I have always had problems finding decent curtains - and I too try to stay away from Ikea. So I don't have too many suggestions. Bouclair Home has a ton of affordable curtains if their mostly earth tones are what you're going for. Otherwise I would buy some fabric on eBay or Etsy and have some made/make them yourself.

Curtains, drapes, and hardware ... Oh My!

Crawford Alexander Window Fashions and Hardware opening next week!

We are going to have a great line of ready made great quality drapes and custom drape panels very affordable compared to buying fabric and having someone make them.

Check us out at
1112 Wellington Street West
in our original locale

Cheers!

I was just in there and didn't think to ask about curtains (I was asking about ceiling lamps...). Shoot. And now my fabric is bought and the curtains are made...

Thanks anyway Luc & Jamie!
