Ikat
I've a hankering for some ikat in my new place. Perhaps for cushions. Perhaps to drape over a chair. Perhaps a footstool, a small chair or trim for some curtains. On design*sponge's bloggers' guide to online shopping I shared Uzbek Craft . This week I found Antiquarian Textiles on ebay. The goods appear very similar but the prices and more importantly the shipping are great. The problem I'm having is which one to buy! If suzani's are your thing they have those covered as well. Thinking lime green or dark blue myself .... or the pink or .... and should it be silk or cotton. Decisions!

oooo...pretty pretty! If you like Ikat, you will also like an offshoot of similar Indian fabric style known as bomkai (found typically on sarees)
Ha ha, whenever I see a post about ikats or suzanis, I think "decorator types pay such crazy prices. You can get things SO much cheaper on ebay." But it appears you already know that!
I ordered some suzani pillow covers from Antique Textiles earlier this week, but sadly they're still in shipping, so can't give you the report. But I did see those ikats on the site and drool a little. So pretty!
And p.s. as long as I'm commenting.... Just want to say that your site is absolutely the best. You have indeed inspired me so, so many times!!!! Many thanks from a reader!
