Aline Matsika

Aline Matsika has an incredible talent for adding an ethnic African spin on contemporary and antique furniture. She began with a boutique in Paris and a decade ago opened one in Soho. Her pieces include Louis XVI chairs covered with antique fabric from Zaire and 1930's armchairs covered with Senagalese cotton-and-raffia. Her spaces are thus very unique and so warm and inviting with beautiful patterns and woods. (HGTV's Designstar finalist David used her products in his last room - I LOVED the huge floor lamp!)

i'm working on a project right now for a client who loves modern design but is big into african art and culture as well and i was wondering how i would blend the two, now i have inspiration!

Had to have another look at this fabulous post. Look at that seventh pic - profound. Has totally solved the dilemma for me of how to decorate a round room.
