Dog on a chair
Regular readers will be aware of Kim's fetish for chairs and especially photos of dogs on chairs. Most of you won't know that she particularly has a thing for whippets, rescue greyhounds and Italian greyhounds. Here's a perfect picture for you Kim!

Sooooooo cute! Great find Jo! I feel guilty though that it's been all about dogs and not cats. I think my cats are jealous.
But then you decided to let them eat their food off a fancy silver tray so I think they are over it! (See Kim's Flickr pics)
Cute Iggy. Kim, seems you and I share more than just a town: I own two whippets. Sighthounds complement any decor :) ~A
Yet another coincidence TLBF! Too funny. Now if you said you also had 4 cats then this would become creepy. I am jealous you have 2 whippets. Hey...how about you stick your dogs on a chair, take a pic and send it to me to post!
Don't worry, only one cat. I"ll see what I can do for a decent chair picture. I'm still a recovering student so the decor is a little lame. ~A
Oh, this is fabulous! A friend of mine rescues "retired" race dogs like whippets and greyhounds... such a dark side to that sport. These animals are so wonderful, and deserve a loving home.
This character looks adorable... an adorable picture!! (:
i'd love to have two rescue greyhounds or whippets some day!
if i lived a short walk from a park they could run in a lot...and no cats (like that's gonna happen!); do they tend to chase smaller creatures?
From what I've heard if you get am ex-racing greyhound they will test them to see how they react to cats (and I guess small animals in general) considering cats look an awful lot like those furry things they chase around the tracks. And greyhounds make great apartment dogs. They don't need (or want) alot of exercise. Hard to believe but true.
LOL, apparently there's going to be a lot of sighthounds living in well decorated homes some day :)
Since people seem interested and I'm a dog nerd, a mini-lecture:
Retired greyhounds are lovely but most can never be allowed off-leash without precautions (no small animals, well-enclosed spaces and muzzles). They love to chase so much they can't be trusted not to hurt themselves or your outdoor housecat or your neighbour's little fluffy dog. They may be ok with cats indoors but outdoors all cats are fair game.
Whippets are not typically raced for money so there's less rescues but you can find well-treated older ones needing homes that are rejected show dogs like mine. Some whippets can be trusted off-leash but it depends on the dog. Some also are ok with cats.
All sighthounds, no matter how well-trained, would rather chase a small moving animal into traffic than come when called. But they make wonderful bedwarmers and attractive throw pillows. ~A
I found another dog on a chair for you @ http://www.flickr.com/photos/oscarmmes/478831862/in/photostream/. Enjoy!
thanks Kim + TLBF,
cool!
my neighbor has two, i think they are rescues, i've got to talk with her.
(i once had a fox terrier whippet mix + he was a total speed demon his first 4 years (running that is).
i worked at an SPCA, where my favorite dogs became the staffordshire bull terriers, incredible dogs...i'm tempted to break down and get a French bull dog, tho, call her Madge, but just maybe only if i've taken in several mixed breeds and or rescues....
