The China Club, Berlin

An exclusive members club in the old and new centre of Berlin, the China Club was founded and designed by Anne Maria Jagdfelt. An interesting juxtaposition of bygone luxury and marxist propaganda I'd love to settle in for a scotch and the International Herald Tribune.

Not only do I love all things chinoiserie, 20's Shanghai and gentleman's club but I am totally addicted to Communist propaganda kitsch. Mao to Stalin if it's a mass produced icon I lust after it.

I love this too - but Communist kitsch? Seriously? Jo - sometimes I wonder about you ;) Anyhoo, love the couch, artwork (except for the creepy warhol-ish dude in the 3rd pic) and the railing.

Very beautiful and inspiring interiors, with an asian touch. I'm really liking what I see here on your blog!
