Florence Broadhurst

We've seen her designs in every influential interior design magazine. Her patterns grace fabric, wallpaper, accessories and now fill the pages of a stunning new book. Florence Broadhurst is a design icon not just in her home country of Australia but deservedly worldwide. Hers was a colourful career from outback Queensland via cabaret singing in Shanghai to couturier in London and back to Australia, where from the mid fifties until her unsolved murder in 1977 at the age of 78, Florence created a body of work that leaves us gasping today. Her astounding designs are now again in production through Signature Prints .

The fabric in the 4th photo is GORGEOUS...and the one in the second last photo. Florence, may she rest in peace, was a GENIUS!

The book is a great read. Florence was no shrinking violet . Neither are her fabulous patterns. It's great to see her patterns in a larger format than what is available on the websites. A great archive of her work.
