Normalicious

I really enjoy peeking into the homes of "normal" people. I tend to come across too many perfectly styled and designed spaces in my googling for blog material and I love the quirky and rule-breaking spaces that were created by non-designers....like the Berlin home of artists Alicja Kwade and Gregor Hildebrandt (via Freunde von Freunden).

TVs on walls, B&O and Desire to Inspire

What on earth do TVs on walls, Desire to Inspire and Bang & Olufsen have in common? Nothing much except the new BeoVision 10 website. OK OK I'll preempt this post by saying that if you owned such a stylish TV as the BeoVision 10 you wouldn't have to worry about how it looked on the wall but Bang & Olufsen have taken it to the next level and asked artist/architect Marco Evaristti and stylist and antiques dealer Anja Alfieri to create a room with what can only be described as television as piece of art. These are the results. Beautiful rooms! Inspirational Living. And Desire to Inspire? We are one of the blogs Bang & Olufsen are crazy about. Those Danes always had good taste ;)

Est

The editors of Australian digital magazine Est sent us a sneak peek at their latest edition. In Issue #4 the magazine looks to the Nordic countries for inspiration in a special Scandinavian edition of Est. Go inside the home of Icelandic Interior Designer Rut Kara and Danish homewares maven Tine K. Get to know modern day model turned street style snapper Candice Lake and see inside the home of the original street style photographer Amy Arbus in New York City. Est Issue #4 launches 31 January and I for one can't wait.

Faded Empire

I'm up to something with my good friend Kerrie. A little online venture. Something to tempt our readers. We are building an empire. A Faded Empire. Today I started photographing product. Oh my god I have nothing but praise and respect for photographers and stylists around the world. Hard work! And of course I went about it all the wrong way. Just a teaser for now. We are still a few weeks away from a soft launch. I'll come back soon with some more photos and a link.
