I'm in Paddington Sydney and I'm stalking a warehouse conversion. Bright, white, what a delight! Indoor outdoor living with a relaxed, urban cool vibe. Colour, tick. Mid-mod industrial, tick. City skyline views, tick. Party house, tick. Perfect. Just need the $2.4 million. Oh well. A girl can dream. Link here while it lasts.
I'm a sucker for adaptive re-use and warehouse conversions are high on my list of design lusts. I'm head over heels for this renovation by Melbourne-based bg architecture. The exposed brick walls, the art, the light flooding in through the internal courtyard. Perfect.
A while back I featured some photos on my page of artKRAFT, a shop in Budapest that specializes in industrial furnishings and lighting. They recently acquired a new massive space in a warehouse that is nearly 500 m2 with 9m ceilings. I swear I would have a mild heart attack walking into this shop. What a dream! And OMG - stairs made from pallets. :)
I don't think you can get anymore "down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass" than this Dumbo warehouse apartment by Brooklyn-based Interior Design firm Sheep + Stone. Character, warmth, quirk and a view to the bridge from the large industrial style windows.
