TVs on walls, B&O and Desire to Inspire

What on earth do TVs on walls, Desire to Inspire and Bang & Olufsen have in common? Nothing much except the new BeoVision 10 website. OK OK I'll preempt this post by saying that if you owned such a stylish TV as the BeoVision 10 you wouldn't have to worry about how it looked on the wall but Bang & Olufsen have taken it to the next level and asked artist/architect Marco Evaristti and stylist and antiques dealer Anja Alfieri to create a room with what can only be described as television as piece of art. These are the results. Beautiful rooms! Inspirational Living. And Desire to Inspire? We are one of the blogs Bang & Olufsen are crazy about. Those Danes always had good taste ;)

Now you see it now you don't

Clever custom joinery in this McMahon's Point, Sydney renovation and extension by architects Stanic Harding. A California Bungalow style home was given a modern take while retaining period features like the bay windows. The new addition respects the street appeal while not hiding its existence or pretending to be what it is not. A change of level in the small backyard provides an opportunity for decking and seating that will soften over time.

Reader requests - what to do with a television

I have gotten a few reader requests lately having to do with televisions and how to decorate around them and make them less of an eye-sore. There are all sorts of ideas below - hide it within built-in shelving, wallpaper the wall behind it (or paint it black), place it on top of a hot pink credenza as a distraction, hang art around it (like I did).....and at the end of the post is an example of what NOT TO DO.
