Bedroom inspiration

My bedroom is mind-numbingly boring. I can't wait to get started on it eventually. I want to hang my Moroccan wedding blanket on a wall somewhere in there (maybe across from the bed this time instead of as a headboard) and have a shelf with all of my nature/wunderkammer-ish knick knacks I currently house on my living room mantel. And I want it to be very serene. I was searching through my photo stash looking for inspiration, and I quickly realized that I do not want white walls or anything close to white (wow there alot of white-walled bedrooms out there....WHY?!). I think ideally I would like either dark brown or a medium grey-ish colour. We shall see. I have a bunch of Farrow & Ball paint samples to try out. Here are bedrooms I found that really work for me.

Ikea experiment with time travel - part 2

About a month ago I shared with you a video that Ikea put together involving hypnotism, time travel and life-changing events. I received the video for part 2 and it is a hoot - waking up to a marriage proposal, suddenly becoming a parent to a teenage rocker son.... "The everyday is exciting! It’s on those seemingly ordinary days life happens and changes. And when it does, so does our home"..."In the new IKEA catalogue you can find solutions for every episode in life". But does it make the teenage son go away? ;)

Ikea never ceases to amaze me with their creativity in their products and in their marketing. This is hilarious. 

It’s no ordinary illusion. Together with hypnotist Justin Tranz, IKEA let young couples experience their future in a fascinating time travel experiment.

In the experiment, world-renowned hypnotist Justin Tranz put a young couple in deep trance before they’re being exposed with potential life-changing events in advance. Guided by Tranz, the young couple embarks on a time journey where different life predictions awaits them – from celebrating a birthday for their imaginary 6-year old daughter, to an odd meeting in the bathroom with the same daughters future boyfriend, years later.

The bathroom renovation file

There may be light at the end of my bathroom renovation tunnel. The funds are gathered and a builder might just have been found. No firm plans drawn up but we have a builder! Is that putting the horse before the cart? And I have more inspiration pictures. Maybe that's why no firm plans.
