How to do knotty pine
If life gives you lemons then make lemonade. If your cursed with knotty pine then embrace your inner 70s muse. Also helps to invest in a large piece of art ;) By Bestor Architecture.

I'm real estate stalking in Bondi Junction in Sydney. More and more these days I'm drawn to real homes. A little battered about the corners but still stylish. Don't get me wrong. I love a big glitzed glamazon of a house like the next interior design junkie but I know I'll never own one. Here's what the agent wrote on the listing ... "Refreshingly different and brimming with artistic flair, this freestanding home has been lovingly held by one family for more than 40 years." maybe some agent will write that about my house when it's time for me to let it go. It's one that got away. A time capsule of 60s cool. Stepping down a sloping block in Fern Tree, Tasmania is this brick and glass split level designed by David McGlashan. A tweak of the bathrooms and kitchen, move in my West German pottery collection, switch on the Bitossi lamps and rub the danish oil all over the teak table. I'd be in heaven. Alas I missed it but can still dream. Link here while it lasts.
Couldn't resist featuring another apartment on the books at locations agency Hi-Location. White and wood, wallpaper and vintage. I'd hire it for a photo shoot and never want to leave.
The Baxter, an iconic 1950's apartment building in Bellevue Hill, Sydney has been given a new lease on life. With interiors by SJB Interiors there are a number of renovated 2 bedroom apartments for sale. I, of course, am drawn to the one with the harbour views and the amazing curved windows. The simpler apartments just don't seem to cut it after that. Lucky I'm not in the market for a 60 year old apartment for just under $1 million AUD. Still I love the kitchens and bathrooms ... and the retro furniture. Real estate stalking display units on a Saturday. Links here and here while they last.
