Rich, jewel like accents mixed with metallics and mirror play against a neutral base and beautiful light flooding in through large windows in this small apartment by Vancouver-based Peter Wilds Design. The mirror box bedroom is big on style if small in size. Just as impressive is that the feel of the space can be refreshed as simply as changing out the colours of the accessories.
A contemporary confection, a French fantasy, a Parisian home of many layers by Elodie Sire of D.mesure. Organic shapes and textures mixed with Moroccan rugs and modern art, a dash of brocante and always the immensely personal style of the owner's treasured personal pieces.
Monday means escape day. Run away from the beginning of the work week and dream of faraway places. Enter the dark and moody luxury of the Canal House boutique hotel in Amsterdam's Jordaan district. Waiting within is a secret green oasis bathed in dappled light. Light and dark, old and new, drawing inspiration from Dutch history and art. Shall we run away to the dark side? Work can wait.
That late afternoon light in the mountains. Those purples and dusky blues as the golden sun dips low over eucalypt forests. The owner of this TriBeCa loft, by stellar Australian firm Nexus Designs, chose a colour palette inspired by Australia's Blue Mountains. Absolute perfection. But then you wouldn't expect anything less from Nexus Designs.
